Universal Health Care is neither Universal nor understood
seriously. i've heard so many people who don't know anything about it who TALK as if they DO. i didn't know much about it, but i figured why worry about something unless i'm willing to do the research and find out what it's about?so somebody else did that and i read their information. and it's good.

I agree. I hear (and see) a lot of negative stuff about health care reform. It seems that people don't realize that 1) it is optional. You can have insurance through a private company or the public plan and 2) that there is NO 'Death Panel'. Nobody is killing the elderly or terminally ill. Making medical counseling available to create a plan is hardly killing someone off- it is to facilitate treatment so that people don't have to go rushing off to emergency rooms.
In any case, it looks like they are going to drop the public option aspect of the plan. In my opinion that defeats the whole purpose of the reform. If there is no government-sponsored option, then the insurance companies will make even MORE money, because now everyone will be required to have insurance. And the only options available will be private ones. Can you tell I'm a bit peeved? *grumble*
